History is the study of all kinds of activity in the past. Stone Age man recorded history by drawing pictures on the walls of caves. With the development of the written word over the past four thousand years history has been recorded in manuscripts and books. Throughout that time there has been a continual struggle between Conservatives who wanted things to remain more or less as they were and Radicals who wanted social change.
